Applus+ collaborates with Discover® Global Network to validate new spec for payment cards and terminals

Discover® Global Network placed their trust in Applus+ Laboratories to lead a comprehensive project aimed at validating its latest specification for payment applications on smartcards and terminals, D-PAS Connect, and replacing legacy D-PAS specs. Once the transition period expires, compliance with the D-PAS Connect functional and security requirement will be mandatory for vendors and independent laboratories, in order to test and certify contact and contactless products working with the Discover Network. 

Scope of the project

Our experts in payment solutions testing have collaborated with Discover Global Network in revising the technical requirements of the new spec and developing the security guidelines for labs and vendors. They also carried out different pilot evaluations to certify smartcard and terminal applets developed by leading vendors using the new spec. As part of the scope of the pilot project, Applus+ also validated a new test tool specifically developed by Galitt to test the functional requirements of this new spec.
